Ride It Out3:12am
You: I’ve asked before, I know. I just need to be sure.
Maybe: I won’t answer it. Answering is the hook, and it never holds.
You: It’s every night now. I get into bed and it starts.
Maybe: Then bed is the practice. Lie down with it tonight and let it be loud.
Worth keeping in mind?
It starts at bedtime, most nights.

Asking someone you love the same question, worded slightly differently
Checking, counting, praying or replaying it until it feels right, then once more
An answer that would settle anyone else. Not this
A memory that keeps resurfacing to ask whether it was your fault
Steering around the places, people or news that set it off
Lying awake at 3am wondering if you're overreacting, or making it all up
You don’t need a diagnosis to be here, and you don’t have to decide whether it’s “bad enough”. It works the same either way.

01 · THE CHAT
Get through the spike without feeding it.
Open it the moment a thought grabs you, day or night: Ride It Out for the middle of a wave, Learn & Practice for the calmer hours. Every spike you get through without answering it makes the next one easier to let pass.
Type it, or hold the mic and say it. The recording stays on your phone, and only the words are sent.

02 · LESSONS
Understand why the thought sticks, and what loosens it.
Each lesson takes a few minutes, written around you in plain words, so you know what your mind is doing and what to do about it. A short practice chat turns each one into something you can use today.

Win back what OCD has made you avoid, one step at a time.
Small steps towards what you have been steering around, starting with one within reach. The coach suggests the next rung, and you decide what goes on it.

04 · THE EXPOSURE
Face the fears you can’t practise out in the world.
For the outcome you dread or the image that turns up uninvited: ask, and the coach writes a short script for the rung you are on, in your own words, and reads it to you.
How do you keep my generated exposures secure?
The voice is made on our own servers, never by a speech company, and it comes back sealed so only you can open it. The script is sealed with your key like everything else, and once the audio is on your phone nothing is sent while it plays.

“I can't believe how good this app is. It's amazing how quickly it learns about me and tailors the response to my intrusive thoughts and compulsions”
Taylor M.
“I had no idea how to deal with my own thoughts. I felt totally out of control and the lessons gave me a structured approach to practice. The chat was so nice to fallback on for specific questions and when I was spiraling out of control”

Your time back
Spend your day on your life, not the loop.
The hours checking used to take go back to the people, plans and things you want to do again.
Why it works, explained from scratch. The practice comes from NICE CG31, the guidance the NHS treats this from, and the evidence page is honest about what is and isn’t proven.
This loop runs on the thing you have never said out loud, and you can’t say that to something you think is being read.
Everything you write is sealed on your device with AES-256 before it is sent, and the key never leaves that device. Every product in this space says “encrypted”; who holds the key is what separates them.
Messages, conversation titles, the memory it keeps, your ladders, your exposures and everything you log are ciphertext in our database. There is no readable copy anywhere on our side.
Nothing you write is logged or cached.
No ads, no advertising partners, and no profile of your symptoms, because there is nothing readable here to build one from.
One exception: writing a reply means the model reads that message, and writing an exposure means it reads the rung it is for. Nobody keeps either, and nothing that identifies you goes with them.
Nobody here is watching over you. If you were ever in danger, we could not see it.
Googling and asking ChatGPT buy a few minutes of quiet, then the question comes back louder. Maybe helps you build something that holds: fewer spikes, and more of your day back. If ChatGPT keeps helping right up until it doesn’t, here’s why that happens.

A therapist you can see

No, and it says why each time
Yes, every time you ask. That is the trap
No. Leaving it unanswered is the work
Who can read what you write
Nobody here. Sealed on your device, and we never hold the key

Your therapist, which is the point of going
When you can reach it
Any hour, from any browser you can open
Any hour

English, Spanish and French all the way down: the lessons, the exposures read aloud, and crisis lines for your own country
It replies in your language. There is no practice around it built for one
You need one who speaks yours, which shortens an already short list
What it cannot do
Notice you are in trouble. Nobody here is watching, because nobody here can read it
Stop feeding the loop
Be there the moment it hits
If you can get to a specialist who treats this, go. Maybe is for the hours they can’t be in, and for everyone still on a waitlist or not ready to tell a person yet.
If it isn’t for you, take the money back.

“Intrusive thoughts and my OCD have plagued me for as long as I can remember. It wasn’t until I understood the most effective way to deal with them that I stopped feeling like I was fighting my own brain all the time. Along the way I reached for the AI chats that are always there, and they made it worse. They answered every question I asked, and the answer held for about ten minutes. I built Maybe as the secure alternative: one I could trust with my most intimate thoughts, that knows my context, and that will not hand me the answer. It has helped me build the skill of leaving a thought unanswered, and to de-escalate when I’m in a spin.”
The person who built Maybe
Questions worth asking before you start.
Will it tell me the thought means nothing about me?
No. That is the answer you have been chasing, and you already know how long it holds. It names what is happening instead, and stays with you while the feeling comes down on its own.
Does it remember where I got to?
Yes. Your ladder, how each rung went, the moments you logged and your plan are sealed with your key and opened on your device. When you start a conversation the coach is handed the rung marked next and how the last one went, and it starts from there rather than from nothing.
Do I need a diagnosis?
No, and you are never asked to call yourself anything. It works the same whether you have a diagnosis, a suspicion, or neither.
Can you read what I write?
No. Your words are sealed on your device before they are sent, and we do not hold the key. There is one honest exception: writing a reply means the model reads that message, retained by no one. The privacy page lists the rest of what we can and cannot see.
What does it cost, and when am I charged?
Seven days free, with a card up front. The first charge lands on day seven, and cancelling before then costs you nothing. The guarantee runs for 30 days from the day you start, so the first charge stays refundable for three weeks after it lands, with no questions and no reason needed.
Is there an app to download?
No, and no store listing either. It runs in the browser you already have, and your browser can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app. Nothing about it lands in a purchase history, and the card statement shows a neutral name.
Is it a meditation, or something to relax me?
No, and it is close to the opposite. A relaxation track played during an exposure is a safety behaviour: it gets you through the feeling by damping it, and what you learn is that the feeling needed damping. This reads you a situation you have been steering around, in a level voice, and stays out of the way while the discomfort does what it does. If you want something calming, that is a real thing to want and this is not it.
Do I have to say any of this out loud?
No. Everything can be typed. There is also a microphone beside Send: hold it and your phone turns what you say into text, which is sent like a typed message. The recording never leaves your phone and is never kept, and the microphone is only asked for the first time you press it. The coach speaks only when it reads you an exposure you asked for, and you choose whose voice reads it and can hear each one first.
Is this therapy?
No. It is structured practice built on published clinical guidance, and it is not therapy, not a diagnosis and not a crisis service. If you can get to a specialist who treats this, go. This is built for the hours they cannot be in.
Can I take any of this to a therapist?
Yes. It makes a summary for a first appointment: what you said at the start, your ladders and how far each one got, the moments you logged, and your setback plan. It is put together on your device and shared from there, so no version of it reaches us, and it says on its own first page that it is not a clinical record and that nothing in it has been scored.
The people around me keep reassuring me. Can it help with that?
There is a card you can hand to whoever gets asked, in your own words. It gives them something to say rather than something to withhold, because “just stop answering” sounds like being asked to be cold to someone they love. Like the summary, it is made on your device and goes straight to your share sheet.
If any of this sounded like you, try it for a week.
